This trek is an easy for average hikers as it does not go higher than 3400 meters at Phephe –La pass between Choekhor and Tang valley in Bumthang. The trek takes one through beautiful villages and small rivers meandering down the valley, filled with trout. Bumthang is commonly known as ‘cultural heartland’ of Bhutan, where the trekkers can visit the temples and villages. The best time for trek is in spring and fall.
At the end of the trek, visit Ogyencholing Palace, the only privately owned museum in Bhutan consisting traditional artifacts on display.

Day 2 Ngang Lhakhang – Tahung
Distance: 16 km
Time: 6 hours
Elevation (min-max): 2800 m/9184ft – 3565 m/11693ft
Day 3 Tahung – Mesithang
Distance: 16 km
Time: 4-5 hours
Elevation (min-max): 2920 m/9578ft – 2575 m/8446ft
