Tashiyangtse

(El. 1850m) is famous for Chorten Kora, a Nepalese designed stupa and its festival in mid March. The design was carved on a radish and brought to Bhutan, which is believed to be founded in 1782 by Yonten Thaye, the 13th Chief Abbot of Bhutan. The festival would be filled up with people from Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, India and northeastern nomads, Merak and Sakten.
Further north from Trashi Yangtse village is a roosting ground at an elevation of 2800m for Black Necked Cranes which fly from Tibetan Plateau in mid October.
