(El. 1850m) is famous for Chorten Kora, a Nepalese designed
stupa and its festival in mid March. The design was carved on a radish and
brought to Bhutan, which is believed to be founded in 1782 by Yonten Thaye, the
13th Chief Abbot of Bhutan. The festival would be filled up with
people from Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, India and northeastern nomads, Merak
Further north from Trashi Yangtse village is a roosting
ground at an elevation of 2800m for Black Necked Cranes which fly from
Tibetan Plateau in mid October.
